Do you run through the school holidays?
No we are term time only but we do offer Holiday workshops for those who would like to participate.
Do you put students through exams?
No we don't enter our students for dance exams as we believe they have enough pressure on them with school exams. Our emphasis is on performing rather than exams.
We do offer our private singing students the opportunity to take exams with the London College of Music but these are not compulsory.
Will my child take part in any shows?
Yes all our students are invited to take part in 2 shows per year. We hold a Christmas concert and a summer show each year.
What should my child wear if I am bringing them for the first time?
We ask that you bring your child to their free taster and trial classes in loose comfortable clothing that they can move freely in.
Leggings/shorts with a t-shirt and a jumper are perfect with indoor trainers or pumps.
If you then decide to enrol your child in our Academy you can purchase uniform from us directly or from local suppliers.
What qualifications do the teachers hold?
All our dance teachers are qualified with the Imperial Society Of Teachers Of Dance (ISTD) and have worked extensively in the professional world of dance and musical theatre.
All our teachers hold enhanced CRB checks and public liability insurance.
There is always a first aider in the studio during opening hours.
What should my child bring with them?
All your child will need for their class is a water bottle with their name on (water only - no fizzy drinks or juice as when split they make our dance floor sticky and may cause damage)
What age do your classes start from?
For Ballet we take students from 3-18 years
For Musical Theatre & Tap we take students from aged 4 - 18yrs
Street dance classes start for children aged 7 -18 yrs
Private vocal coaching starts from age 8 yrs
Our Lyrical classes start from aged 11 - 18 yrs.
After the first free class, new starters are then able to pay weekly for the next 3 weeks. Thereafter monthly invoices are sent out and fees are paid in advance at the start of the month.
Can parents watch lessons?
We don't invite our parents into the studio to watch lessons as we find that it can be quite intimidating for our younger students and put them off.
Also at the moment due to covid restrictions we are operating a drop off and pick up at the door system. However should our younger new starters need their grown up to bring them into the studio and settle them for the first few weeks we are happy for them to do so but we do ask that you wear a face covering if possible.
